Abstract
We present a case of patient treated with intercostal nerve block under the diagnosis as twelfth rib syndrome. He was suffering from right upper abdomen and flank pain which was increased when the patient flexed laterally, rotated trunk. He had direct tenderness on tenth to twelfth rib area which was reproducible. Visual analogue scale score was 50~60. The patient was consulted to urologist and internist from neurosurgical department. But, there were no specific abnormal findings in laboratory test, abdominal and chest computer tomogram, and endoscopic examination. After intercostal nerve block, the pain was relieved and the VAS was nearly zero.
