Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcer is the most common and devastating chronic complications of diabetes mellitus. Offloading, debridement, glycemic control, early detection of the infection and its appropriate treatment, including advanced surgical techniques such as revascularization, are frequently required to save the patient¡¯s limb. The management of diabetic foot ulcer requires a systematic approach to achieve more successful outcomes and ultimately avoid amputations.
