Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a Video Pulmonary Rehabilitation Education Program (VPREP).
Methods: VPREP is applied to patients who are using S hospital Pulmonology unit in Seoul. The effect of using VPREP were assessed by level of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) knowledge, attitude, self efficacy. The program was provided 2 times during hospitalization. The VPREP and survey were conducted from December in 2013 to in February 2014.
Results: A total of 18 patients participated in VPREP. Knowledge of COPD (Mean=1.57 vs 1.90, t=-4.55, p£¼.001) and Self efficacy (Mean=2.23 vs 2.87, t=-4.55, p=.02) levels were significantly increased after the VPREP. Attitude levels were not significantly increased after the VPREP (Mean=3.29 vs 3.41, t=-1.09, p=.28).
Conclusion: These findings suggest that to develop the effective VPREP improved COPD knowledge, and level of self efficacy.
