Abstract

본 보고서는 국립인천공항검역소의 코로나바이러스감염증-19(이하 코로나19) 검역 현황을 분석하여 검역단계 대응의 특성을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
국립인천공항검역소는 코로나19 해외 유행 확산에 따라 대응 수준을 점차 강화하였는데, 이에 따라 일평균 입국자 수는 감소하였으나 집중검역대상에게 받는 건강상태질문서 징구율은 입국자의 96.6%에 이르렀다. 본 보고서의 전체 분석기간은 2020년 1월 2일부터 5월 15일까지로 주요 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 해당기간의 검역대상자수는 5,690,933명, 건강상태질문서 징구건수는 892,918건이었고, 인천공항검역소에서 조사대상 유증상자(Patient Under Investigation, 이하 PUI)로 분류하여 확진된 환자는 1번 환자를 포함하여 총 405명이었다.
둘째, 검역단계에서 분류한 유증상자는 방문 체류 국가의 코로나19 발생 상황에 따라 달라지는 양상이었다. 2020년 1월부터 2월 말까지 대다수 유증상자는 중국지역에서 입국하였으나, 3월 이후에는 유럽과 미국의 유행으로 검역단계 유증상자 수도 큰 폭으로 증가하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 유럽과 미국 등 주요 항공편 분석결과 발생자 수가 폭증하는 국가의 출발 항공편에서 유증상자 비율이 높은 경향과 일치한다.
셋째, 2020년 3월 14일부터 5월 15일까지 코로나19 확진 환자 총 404명이 방문 체류한 국가는 유럽과 미국이 전체의 84%를 차지하였다.

The purpose of this report was to present the characteristics of the quarantine response to COVID-19 by analyzing indicators at the Incheon Airport National Quarantine Station (the IANQS). In 2020, quarantine in South Korea gradually strengthened following the global spread of COVID-19. As a result, the daily number of inbound travelers decreased, but the collection rate of health declaration forms(HDFs) reached 96.6 percent of those who entered South Korea.
The target period for analysis was from January 2nd to May 15th, 2020 and the main results are as follows.
First, the total number of quarantine targets was 5,690,933, and the collected number of HDFs was 892,918. A total of 405
patients including the first confirmed patient(#1) were confirmed by the IANQS among patients under investigation(PUIs) who were detected at the quarantine phase.
Second, cases with COVID-19 symptoms were affected by the outbreak trends of the departure country. From January to the end of February 2020, the majority of cases with symptoms departed from China, and after March, the number of cases with symptoms increased significantly due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and the Unitede States. Flight analyses showed the same results that the percentage of PUI passengers was high in flights from departure cities with high prevalence. Third, 84% of 404 confirmed cases from March 14th to May 15th, 2020 had been in Europe and the United States.
