This paper examines the impact of unstable employment on suicide through regional analysis. The empirical analysis with pooled OLS used administrative database and statistics, such as cause of death statistics, economic activity census, etc. Data include 20-34 years old persons, who are expected to be active economically and more vulnerable to precarious jobs. Empirical results show that, after controlling for variables having a potential effect on suicidal incidence, job unstableness have a significantly negative impact on suicide. In short, the higher the unstable employment rate, the higher the suicide rate. Influences of other independent variables are somewhat different from existing literature, which seems to result from the younger age of study population. More research in micro level needs to be done to determine the detailed mechanism from unstable job to suicide.
