Abstract
I. Introduction
Mandibular premolars usually have a single root and canal. However during endodontic treatment, it must be noted that variations in anatomical configuration are occasionally exist. This case report is aimed to present the treatment of three cases of mandibular premolars with anatomic variation.
II. Case Presentation
1. Age/Sex: 28 /F
2. Chief Complaint: I have pain on left lower premolar area.
3. Past Dental History: N-S
4. Present Illness: Severe cervical caries on #34, 35 Per(-), Air(-), Mob(-), EPT(+) Bite test(+)
5. Impression: Dental caries on #34, 35
6. Treatment Plan: Caries control on #34, 35
1. Age/Sex: 56/F
2. Chief Complaint: I have cavity on left lower premolar.
3. Past Dental History: N-S
4. Present Illness: Severe cervical caries Per(-), Air(-), Mob(-), EPT(+)
5. Impression : Dental caries on #34
6. Treatment Plan: Caries control on #34
1. Age/Sex: 41/F
2. Chief Complaint: Referred from local clinic for RCT on #45.
3. Past Dental History: PFM crown restoration on #45
4. Present Illness: PFM crown restoration and periapical lesion on #45 Per(-), Mob(-)
5. Impression : Chronic apical periodontitis on #45
6. Treatment Plan: RCT on #45
III. Conclusion
Although the frequency of mandibular premolars with an abnormal anatomy is not common, each case should be investigated carefully to detect possible anatomic variations before endodontic treatment.
