Abstract

The microscope provides magnification and illumination, essential for identifying minute details of the apical anatomy. Before using dental microscope, practitioner should understand the importance of some part and adjustment of microscope. Inclinable binocular is an essential part and the farfocalization is a diopter setting for the dentists to use efficiently. Mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA) is well known biocompatible retrograde filling even if it is difficult to manipulate them. This presentation will suggest easy manipulation method of MTA and how to do farfocaling. Once the diopter settings are made, they are that operators only, and should be recorded in case the settings are changed. Due to changes in eye correction associated with time, it is recommended this procedure be repeated by the operator twice per year. Endodontic microsurgery is a surgical procedure performed with the aid of a microscope, ultrasonic instruments and modern microsurgical instruments. Microsurgery of molar teeth is somewhat difficult to do in the local clinic in Korea. However, it is not difficult for the general practitioners to do endodontic microsurgery in cincisors and premolars which is
very valuable treatment option. This presentation will show each step of apical microsurgery with several clinical cases so that the audience can understand the procedures of endodontic microsurgery and practice by themselves.
