Abstract

본고는 우리나라가 세계화, 개방화시대를 맞이하면서 다문화사회로서 변화됨과 동시에 최근 급속한 고령화 추세로 인해 고령사회를 넘어 초고령사회로 나아가는 현상에 주목하여, 이 두 가지 사회적 변화를 동시에 경험하는 ‘고령 다문화사회’(Aged multicultural society)‘로써 우리나라의 사회정책의 방향이 무엇인지 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본고는 우선 고령 다문화사회를 이해하기 위한 개념화 작업으로써, 고령화사회의 직접적 원인인 저출산과 고령화 사회의 관련성에 대한 논의를 바탕으로 고령화와 다문화사회의 관련성을 강조하였다. 다음으로 고령 다문화사회를 위한 사회정책의 방향을 제시하기 위해, 고령 다문화사회를 이해하기 위한 관점들, 고령 다문화계층의 사회적 적응요인과 그들이 겪는 당면 과제, 그리고 고령 다문화사회 대비 정책방향 설정을 위한 고려사항을 논의하였다. 본고의 논의는 고령 다문화사회를 올바로 이해하고, 그에 대한 적절한 사회정책의 방향을 수립하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다

This paper discusses on Korea’s social transitions toward the aged multicultural society, which is combined with an aged society and an multicultural society. To set up prospective social policies for the aged multicultural society, this paper investigates on the affecting factors of the low-birth rate phenomenon for making aged society and on the relationship between being a multicultural society and an aged society. In addition, this paper discusses about the variables for social adaption for aged multicultural groups and their confronted problems. Finally, this paper suggests three considerable viewpoints for establishing social policies for a sustainable aged multicultural society.
