Abstract
Our research group analyzed the outcomes of elementary and middle school students` group counseling sessions regarding students` emotional behavior related to students` mental health since the year 2007. After a thorough examination of the data, we found two major problems with the existing program. The current elementary/secondary school group counseling program mainly focuses on quantitative study for program development and effectiveness in terms of topic and method as opposed to qualitative. Another problem is that the results of the emotional behavior test made for mental health improvement do not recognize students at risk in early stages. Our research is based on grounded statistics of psychological test results from schools executing the current group counseling program. After investigating the matter we aspire to make improvements for a more successful outcome of the rudimentary education group counseling system. We also hope that our research is utilized as fundamental data for promoting qualitative outcomes in the group counseling program in the future.
