Abstract
Short QT syndrome (SQTS) is a cardiac channelopathy associated with a predisposition to atrial and ventricular fibrillatory arrhythmias and a high risk of sudden cardiac death. Diagnostic criteria have been proposed by Gollob and are divided into four different components including electrocardiography, clinical history, family history, and genotype. Treatment is based on defibrillator implantation, and quinidine may be beneficial in certain cases.
